I believe that’s a line from THE TEMPEST, but at any rate, one of the best things about being a writer is that I am always learning. I just got home from teaching at UCSD and a student sent me a remarkable piece–something she wrote during a classroom exercise tonight. It took my breath away.
One of the best things about the Romance Writers of America is the terrific variety of workshops the various chapters offer. I’ve taken two great workshops in the last month, one on synopses and queries, and one on time management. My instructors were CJ Lyons and Nancy Warren. Awesome, generous teachers both. I learned so much.
I’m very happy to announce that I have joined the Clarion Foundation Board, supporting Clarion’s move to UCSD. I’m very proud of my alma mater for landing this honor.

BRAVE NEW WORLD is also from The Tempest. And Anyanka uses the linein The Wish. But it also comes from a book called Brave New World.
