I just started reading the Wicked series alittle while ago (actually 4 days ago):) I have finished them and I almost lost my mind hoping there would be a 3rd/5th book! Im really excited for Wicked 3! I hope I dont have to wait much longer!

I have to agree that this particular series is taking forever to be released. People tend to forget about the characters and the story line of each book because the gap between the release of each book is taking quite long. I hope the next book does give us a brief description of what happened in the previous books or I’ll just refresh my memory by skimming through the books. I love this series but I feel like these books are taking more than the normal amount of time to be released. It’s hard to stay connected to the characters because you forget about them when there’s such a big gap between the books. I’m a big fan of this series, I guess it’s worth the wait. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. Oh yeah, I love how each book is nice and thick, it’s a great way to pass time and be entertained!

Hello, everyone, and thanks for your comments. Some of you have been talking about how long it has taken for this book to be released. Here is why: as some of you know, the four WICKED books were released a few years ago. I had a four-book contract to write them, and Debbie and I completed them with the intention to write more. But then our editor left the company, and no editor there expressed an interest in pursuing the series.
Debbie and I queried the publisher many times, expressing our wish to continue the series–at the very least, to finish our original story. We sent on many of the letters and emails we received, as proof that we had readers who wanted us to write more books.
Then the books were repackaged and sold, and they sold very, very well. And we continued to send our publisher your requests for answers. Well, they finally listened and gave us a contract to write the book. But it takes a long time in publishing between contract, manuscript, and book. It just does. We aren’t the only book they’re working on, and everything has to be scheduled and organized.
We are so grateful that you have stayed with us all this time, and we really hope you like the next book. We do, and our editor does, and now we are in the production phase of publishing…time-consuming but, we sincerely hope that you will find it worth the wait.

Not all books can make you feel like you are the character, it’s like a vicarious experience you feel like you are in the book. I have a few questions for you as I’m re-reading the first book…
1. what was holly’s mom and dad fighting about? You never really say. Did her mom find out about the witch line in Daniels family? How?
2. Why exactly did Daniel leave his family (mom and sister) after the big fight he had with his mom? What was the fight about?
3. Did Daniel know that Holly would be a witch?
4. Why didn’t he take the advice of the ‘dream” to heart and ‘get away”?
5. When holly saw her father in the hospital was it a vision or was it really him trying to communicate with her?
6. Who was in Holly’s room? was it Micheal using the ottoman Turks eye?
7. HOw do you pernonce Cahors?

OMG, I am such a huge fan of the wicked series. It is so much better than the stupid twilight series. I was going insane when I finished the fourth book and I couldn’t find a sequel. Hey, could make sure your publisher makes it into a kindle book. If not I’ll go to the store and buy it, but I wanted to read it on my amazon kindle.

The book is due out next July.
Cahors is pronounced “KA-OAR.” I think most of the rest of Hope’s questions will be answered in July. If not, JLM/Us/K! BTW, our editor ROCKS and he really liked our manuscript!

I’m kinda confused…I haven’t read the Wicked series but my friend said she read the first 4 but can’t find the rest. She says there are 8 books or something in the series but this website is saying that the 3 (or 5? I’m confused about that too) is just barely coming out. I want to get her the rest because she said she really liked the books. Can one of you people help me out?

There are only 4 books currently out of in the Wicked series. The reason that it says the 3rd or 5th is because the publisher rebound the books with Barnes and Noble and sold them in a different way after so many years. The new way had two of the original books in one book, so if you were to go and get wicked it would have book one and two in it (witch and curse) and wicked 2 has books 3 and 4 in it (legacy and spellbound). Then Wicked Resserection (aka Wicked 3) is due out in the summer of 09.
I would ask her if its by Nancy Holder…theres also the Wicked years series (about the wicked witch in OZ){only 3 books so far} theres also a Wicked in the Pretty little liars series (which wicked is the 5th book in that series){looks like theres only 5 in the series so far}

I picked up this book for the first time ever during my cruise to Alaska. I had just got done reading New Moon, a very inappropriate book for my age group seeing as it was very detailed with the sex scenes, and was begging to read something else again. I met this girl, and she had Wicked 1 laying about, I asked if I could read it.
Needless to say I read Wicked 1 and 2 in two days when I could have been paying more attention to the open ocean while on a VERY expensive cruise. That series almost made me feel sick to my stomach whenever I had to put the book down. I feel a real connection between myself and Holly. In fact, your series and The Host by Stephanie Meyer inspired me to start working on my own story MoonCraft. I don’t think it will go anywhere, but thank you for the inspiration, and thank you for the series!
I am currently in the process of attacking my English 2 teacher with the series to make her read it after reading Twilight. She’s having us read Wuthering Heights right now, so I felt that this would be the perfect type of romance series for her to be reading other than “oh lookie here~ happy endings everywhere!” love stories.

I Love the Wicked series!!!!! I was so into the story I read them both in one day (i mean one day for each book), and i took them everywhere, dentist included!!!!! please, please finish Wicked: Ressurection, soon, i’m gonna explode!!!!! I gave my friend a copy of the first one for christmas, and now she keeps calling me to ask what happens next.

I just bought Wicked 2 about 2 days ago and I couldn’t be happier that there is going to be a 3rd installment. I read Wicked 1 in July 2008 and I admit I forgot what the characters were, what happened, etc. but the minute I started to remember the entire plot, characters and what happened to the very finest detail. Either I have an extremely vivid memory when it comes to books or the Authors are amazing! I think it’s both. I’m way too excited for Wicked 3 and it’s released the pagan in me once again. I feel myself being drawn more and more to the characters of Armand, Pablo and Jose Luis. Thank you Nancy and Debbie for creating such a wonderful series!

As I was re-reading the books I came up with some more questions for you. Two of which deal with the opening of each chapter: What are the sayings in the openings, I think that they are spells and that the first are the Deveroux and the second the Cahors but are they just random or are they supposed to give us in sight into the book?
My other is that I have noticed a lot of typos and confusion in the book. Like my most recent is in the last book (spellbound?) it seems like there are two different introductions from Amanda in it, during the opening scene and then again when Armand and Kari show up at the motel. Another that I noticed was back in the first book (I think) when it said that Nicole was saying something but it was really supposed to be Holly, because it pertained to her not to Nicole. Another that I noticed was again from Spellbound involving Nicole. It was her first scene that Nicole was in and was on Avalon. It first says that this was not the room that she was in the first time and that she new this, as we all do because she was held at the supreme coven headquarters the first time, but then it continued to go into saying that the door jam was now new after she had blasted it, and that the bed was the same and had the hidden compartment as before (at the headquarters). I’ve noticed many other mistakes but these are just the ones that stood out to me the most. I thought that I might let you know about them…so maybe it won’t happen in Resurrection. Also I was wondering if it might be due to the fact that you’re co-authoring the book? Just wondering?

I just finished the 2nd book and I absolutely adored it.If anyone here [like me] is eagerly waiting for the next book, alas July is such a long time away, I would suggest reading anything by LJ Smith. The books are about witches, vampires, werewolves, and are similar to wicked in terms of the tightness of words and amazing descriptions.

I just finished reading the books and i must say that they r really good,july seems such a long wait for it but i cant complain considering most of u have been waiting for it far more longer than i have but it still doesnt make the wait any less painful. I happened to come across it while buying a book for ma lil sis,bought both books for her just to stop harassing me and then decided to read it and right now i will just lend it to her cos i really love the book,just finished it so i decide to get the last one and quess what?!! i have to wait till july….so i have to agree with Michelle why oh why do we always have to wait for months everytime we start with good series books.I wanna thank the authors for such a great book and yes u cant bet i’ll be buying the vampire story u r writing.Thanks.
