I haven’t read The Eternal Kiss yet (it’s on my “want to read” list though), but I did read a lot of the reviews about it on Goodreads etc. And a lot of people did not that the story mentioned in this entry seemed like it would work better as a series/seemed to be opening up something grander. So when you mentioned a new vampire series, I did wonder if it was something like this.
Anyway, congrats on the positive review there, and I can’t wait to hear more about this series!
