I’ve been telling myself that I would write a post after I responded to the many wonderful emails I’ve received, but I’ve been remiss. I’m working very hard on my paranormal romance, SON OF THE SHADOWS, as well as doing some revisions and writing a short story. AND trying to be a good mom for my daughter at this festive time of year.

Related posts:With Thanksgiving Day, we get the greenlight to feel festive and generous–and sometimes that’s hard. I know some people reading this are having a tough day–with relatives they don’t like, or without those whom they love most. I know some of you are alone…or feel alone. I am thankful that I know that despite the turkey and the trimmings, in some ways this is just another day. I’m at my computer, listening to Loreena McKinnit, and this is a special shoutout to anyone who is feeling sad or pressured.
Thank you so much for all your emails of late. I had to finish several things at once, and I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I will reply. And I hope to have news on several fronts.
I’m thankful for you.

Tomorrow I am driving to Ontario, California to attend the California School Library Conference brunch. I can’t wait to thank as many librarians as I possibly can for the wonderful work they do.
I hope you enjoy some autumn weather and possibly a break from school!

I’ll miss her a lot; I was tempted to cancel class but we’ve already missed one session because of the fires. So I’m determined to make it a fun evening for those who show up. We’ll be listening to an excellent rendition of “The Raven” by Christopher Walken and working on six-word short stories. I’d love to see what you come up with.
Taught on Halloween. Lived through it.
Wahaha!

Related posts:My daughter and I had a wonderful time at the Gilded Bat; report to come. Our flight was delayed by many hours in part because of the fires here in San Diego. There are currently 7 fires blazing away, fed by dry Santa Ana winds. As yet, we have not been ordered to evacuate, but thousands of people have been sent to sleep in shelters. Homes have been lost; there has been one death, and at least four firefighters have been injured. One is on a respirator in a medically induced coma. I would appreciate good thoughts/prayers/incantations for healing, restoration, and a swift end to these fires. Thank you.
